I’ll say that it’s important for ARS to have an endowment in order to facilitate sustainability and growth. What’s more important is the support the endowment needs to fulfill its mission. Being a part of ASET from the beginning has been a humbling and gratifying experience. Awarding the valedictorian their scholarship award is fulfilling knowing that small award will help the student achieve their academic goals is worth the effort to see the endowment succeed.

A waqf is a religious endowment and a prophetically based initiative rooted in Islamic history. It is a beautiful tradition that has been a source of benefit for the Muslim community throughout Islamic history. Al Rahmah School Education Trust (ASET) is a nonprofit endowment that has been supportive of ARS students and staff. Its objective is to provide a financial foundation to support the ARS mission in maintaining the standards of cultivating excellence in Islamic character and academics, fostering leadership skills, and developing global awareness. A few ways ASET has helped facilitate this mission is by providing computer devices to the students in the past, continuing to award merit scholarships to the valedictorians, and hosting “Food Fest," every year to raise awareness and inform about the work they do. Alhamdulilah, we are blessed to have community members, ARS alum, and former parents who are still part of ARS through this organization who believe and support the School mission wholeheartedly.

The amount of work ASET is doing is really ensuring future success for the Al Rahmah School. Its imperative in today's day and age that we ensure our children are getting the proper islamic education. An investment into ASET is an investment into the future leaders of tomorrow.
